    Pregnancy is one of the most cherished periods in the life of every woman, Its the time when the long nurtured dreams of motherhood become a reality.

    Blood Sugar levels play a very important role in the life of both, mother and the baby during pregnancy. High Blood Sugar levels may cause deformities in the baby while predispose the baby to develop Diabetes during adulthood. In the mother it may lead to abortions, Caeserian deliveries and cause many complications during the pregnancy like high blood pressure, Pre-eclampsia, kidney disease.

    There are two aspects to Diabetes during pregnancy

    Pregnancy in Pre-existing Diabetes

    Pregnancy in mothers who are already on treatment for diabetes, either oral tablets ( Type II Diabetes) or on insulin injections( Type I ) diabetes.

  • Preexisting Diabetes & Pregnancy

    Pregnancy in mothers who are already on treatment for diabetes, either oral tablets ( Type II Diabetes) or on insulin injections( Type I ) diabetes.   • Gestational Diabetes - diagnosed during Pregnancy

    Pregnancy shagowed by DiabetesGrowth and maintainance of fetus creates special challenges for the mothers body. Hormonal changes in pregnancy decrease mothers insulin sensitivity, leading to manifold increased requirements of insulin; if the mothers pancreas are not able to produce sufficient quantity of insulin, blood sugar levels start rising.
